Here at Explore Adelaide, we love getting out and seeing the hard work people put into getting their house dressed up with Christmas lights, and showing their Christmas spirit.

We have seen some amazing displays over the past week and have decided to find the best Christmas Lights around Adelaide so we can bring you a weekly “Christmas Lights of the Week” post.

Why? Because there’s nothing better than driving around  with your family, and seeing seeing glimmering lights at Christmas time.

To start off our first Christmas light post, we have 9 The Lane in O’Halloran Hill.

This light display is run by Ron and Jude, and has been lit every Christmas for the past 17 years. They hold a plethora of awards for their stunning display, and once you visit, it’s not hard to see why.

2006 & 2007 “Make a Wish Australia” National Champions.

2011, 2013 & 2015 City of Onkaparinga Christmas Lights judged “Best Singe House Display” (2012 “High Commendation”).

2014 Channel 7 Today Tonight Xmas Factor Lights Top Ten Finalist.

Viewing Times for Christmas Lights

The lights were turned on for the first time this year on the 10th of November, and will run through to the 7th of January 2018. Viewing times are between 8pm and 11 pm every night.

You are quite welcome to hop out of your car and take a look around through the front yard, as well as a special viewing spot across the road.

What is There?

They’ve gone all out making this display the best possible, as well as being interactive. As well as more lights than you’ll ever be able to count, there are a mountain of talking santas, moving displays and even a lolly basket for the kids.

There are post cards available for purchase, a raffle, and even a visitors book for you to sign. Everyone is welcome to take photos.  Ron and Jude are always around to answer your questions, show you the displays and make it the best Christmas light experience for the whole family.

So when you’re perusing the streets for a twinkling sensation this festive season, don’t miss this one. It’s added to every year, and they do it all for the community.
